With a clear ambition to ensure a positive development and create a sustainable business model, the management identified a number of key challenges, which have been solved through a strategy process. The process involved thorough and in-depth identification, qualification and prioritisation of strategic improvement initiatives.
Indeks Retail wanted a strategy process with an overall focus on identified challenges in order to assess the need for redesigning the company’s business model using a number of key challenges identified by the management as the starting point.
In cooperation with People & Performance, Indeks Retail applied a funnel model in the strategy process to facilitate idea generation, qualification, prioritisation and planning of strategic initiatives. Using an extensive framework to analyse and assess the business model ensured that relevant and fundamental elements were considered and handled; front line positions and internal business drivers were assessed and improvement initiatives were processed using a holistic approach that enabled allocation of the right implementation competences and distribution of execution responsibility.
In this way, IndeksRetail has ensured successful facilitation of a process that has provided the top management with strategic sparring on how to create a sustainable and value-creating business model for chain stores and member retailers.
Through targeted strategic efforts, IndeksRetail’s business model changed from being a wholesaler to becoming a retailer, and from being a price-raising intermediary to operating as a capital chain.
